We began Oracle College Planning because it was evident that families wanting to send their kids off to college were not fully prepared in all aspects of the process. Any help that was available seemed to have the same old tired approach, putting everyone in the same mold, not addressing the family’s individual needs or providing the help they needed in particular areas. There seemed to be no help out there taking a proactive approach for each family. Families now have an opportunity to work with a group of experts to help them with college admissions, test prep and career counseling, cost analysis and college financial planning.
A true A to Z approach that is customized to meet the unique needs of each individual family.
We help you become educated on the college funding “rules”, make the right college choices, prepare your finances before you complete the financial aid paperwork, ensure that your financial aid forms are completed accurately and on-time, and complete this process for each year that your student is in college. We’re there every step of the way to answer any questions that you have and to keep you updated on your college planning progress.
We help families realize their dream of having a child get accepted to his/her dream school and having that child graduate from college, on time and with the least amount of debt possible.
What it comes down to is this:
Dane Petchul, founder of Oracle College Planning, and his wife Adrienne have been a part of the Orange County business and education communities since 1982. They raised both of their sons in Irvine, and they’ve been involved every step of the way as volunteers, supporters, and contributors to various education, sports, and community groups.
Education and instruction are important to the Petchuls. Aside from being the parents of two children, Adrienne is a former elementary school teacher, and Dane is a long-time tennis coach at Racquet Club of Irvine. Dane and Adrienne were determined to continue assisting students in the years after their sons graduated University High School. They also helped provide funding for scholarships to various students, like those of the Summer Writing Project at UC Irvine. Also at UCI, they have been instrumental in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and the Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP). There are also very involved with their synagogue, University Synagogue in Irvine.
Their love of serving and interacting with people was evident in their restaurant ventures in Irvine and on the UCI campus. Seeing familiar faces grow up and hearing the stories of the hard work from these high school and college kids brought forth an idea on how to serve the community better.
With a long history of helping people with their retirement in the finance world, Dane could shift the focus to help families – parents and children – identify the best path to take for a financially responsible college experience. This was important because Dane was watching family friends struggle between saving for retirement and affording the rising costs of college.
Dane is committed to helping families carefully protect their live-savings from soaring college costs while ensuring that a proper financial pathway would be in place so that student wouldn’t with saddled in debt after graduating.
Working with a great team of resources, Dane has developed an all-encompassing program that identifies a student’s core strength and how it pertains to a particular major, works with the student to identify schools best suited for success within that field, then zeroes in on financial aid – scholarships, grants, and loans – that would give them the best economic outlook to minimize out of pocket college costs and debt.
The Oracle College Planning team carries Dane’s commitment to education and service to all families – regardless of financial wealth, monetary need, or college aspirations to ensure that our children have the best roadmap to an enriching college experience.
